MINUTES OF MEETING HELD IN THE WANSFORD COMMUNITY HALL ON
MONDAY 8TH OCTOBER 2012 AT 7.30 P.M.

In Attendance: Wendy Gray Parish Clerk, several residents of Nene Close and other areas of the village
Cllr Stannage welcomed all members of the public to the meeting.
1. Write to ShaileshVara our MP and get him on board. 2. Through PCC we want EN to advise what exactly has been going on, does it apply with their regulations, investigate site and give full report. What exactly is Mick George doing. 3. Copy in Shailesh Vara with all correspondence. 4. Assurance from PCC that nothing is going on from NCC, informed as neighbouring council until work is finished. 5. Health & Safety – no H&S on site, no security. 6. Who still owns the land? 7. Has work stopped until site investigated? 8. EN when receive planning application, can we have a copy.
The minutes were agreed as a true and accurate record.
30mph signs – Cllr Burrows has distributed to nearly everyone in the village, a few left to be handed out. It was suggested that our thanks are passed to Cllr John Holdich for obtaining the signs for the village.
Tree Warden visit – visit went very well, no further correspondence received from residents.
Roundabout – Cllr Stevens still in discussion, representatives of PCC to attend next meeting if possible to discuss roundabout, bridge, parking near Church, A47, Old Leicester Road and Peterborough Road, downgrading Old Leicester Road, gritting etc.
Village Map – agenda item.
Underpass – a request has been made for the Fix It Van to clean up area, a further check to be made before a reminder is sent to them if required. It was reported that there were three street lights not working, Cllr Stevens will check and advise clerk.
Invoice Parish Clerk – Salary – £170.90 Invoice Parish Clerk – Tax – £111.02 Invoice Moore Stephens – Annual Audit – £176.40 The above invoices were agreed for payment.
We don’t want a play area there – main contention It will encourage older children and potential vandalism Who will use it
There were supporters for the Play Area present who thought it would enhance the village.
Cllr Stannage proposed that we move the process on a stage further, seconded by Cllr Pearson, all other Cllrs in agreement.
It was agreed that we would arrange to hold an “open forum” from 10 am to 12 noon on the 8th December in the Community Hall where we would have to hand a design of how the play area would look. We would need to advertise in Living Villages, complete a leaflet drop to all in the village inviting them along particularly residents in Nene Close to discuss and view designs. Some members of the Parish Council would need to be in attendance. Cllr Sortwell will prepare item for November edition of Living Villages advertising open forum.
Thornhaugh & Wansford Parish Council Burial Ground Maint Committee – Mr Treserden has sold his house and is now moving away. Cllr Pearson has now taken over as Chairman. Funds are in a good state.
